The xStream platform delivers a robust, secure enterprise cloud computing environment
The xStream platform is a unique, enterprise-class cloud computing platform that leverages innovative processes and technology and is backed by industry-leading service level agreements. Virtustream’s revolutionary platform increases operational efficiency and ROI and offers greater financial flexibility through its consumption-based pricing. Clients can purchase the amount of infrastructure resources they need as multi-tiered workload Micro-VM (µVM) with integrated High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
xStream leverages virtualization technologies into an infrastructure service platform that removes the obstacles many organizations face when electing to transform their infrastructure. xStream is available in a dedicated or shared platform and can be managed or unmanaged on or off the client premise. It has the flexibility and elasticity to accommodate a wide range of enterprise IT environments. Vendor agnostic, it enables your enterprise to leverage best-of-breed software and hardware in pursuit of operational excellence.
The xStream platform was developed in-house with industry leading IP based on Virtustream’s decade of virtualization experience. Built to accommodate the rapid evolution of your application environments and demand for optimal infrastructure, xStream handles mission-critical applications without sacrificing security or performance. It is tuned to optimize ERP applications such as SAP, Oracle & Microsoft and has self-service capability through the xStream management portal.

The xStream suite of offerings include:
Virtustream offers the industry’s leading transformational tools and methodologies surrounding the virtualization and Cloud ecosystem. The xStream Advisor produces strategic and tactical deliverables that are specifically designed to provide a blueprint for the alignment of IT to the business while transitioning to a more efficient Virtual Infrastructure or Cloud architecture. These blueprints are based on the organization’s core business objectives, existing compute infrastructure, embedded skill sets, and operational requirements as identified during the various workshops conducted during the data gathering phases of the xStream Advisor service.
We recognize there are differences in the adoption of virtualized infrastructure across companies and industries. In fact, we understand the most appropriate solution varies even within a company’s portfolio of workloads. For applications deemed necessary to be run in an environment where physical hardware is never shared with other companies, we offer a dedicated Cloud solution. It provides world class infrastructure as a service without any concern of comingled data or application processing. Our solution takes advantage of Virtustream’s experience providing private clouds for clients. We provide preconfigured solutions using best of breed industry hardware and software, wrap our xStream management software around it, then offer it as an on-site or hosted solution. In either case the client is assured that their workloads designated to run in a dedicated environment will deliver the highest level of performance at the most efficient total cost of ownership. The end result is a turnkey environment managed by Virtustream and billed based upon the µVM consumption of the environment.
Virtustream focuses on the aggregate requirements of workloads operating within the Cloud and dynamically allocates resources to those with the greatest demand to optimize and balance the application operating environment. This is very different to the standard approach used by other providers who sell commoditized virtual machines with either a specific memory or CPU sizing parameter. Any experienced infrastructure professional will agree that enterprise class workloads require both resources to perform appropriately. In fact, workloads also need network and storage bandwidth allocation to perform optimally.
Our Cloud solutions guarantee CPU, memory, network and storage I/O resources as defined by the number of µVMs a client signs up for. How those resources are consumed is up to the client, which means there is no restriction on the number of virtual machines, the size of those machines or how and when they may be used. We provide the tools to help our clients optimize the use of their virtual resources, with near real time usage statistics and trending analysis. The xStream platform goes a step further by also building in various levels of business continuity depending on the type of µVMs purchased.
